Hehku 10 · Outdoor LED dimmer · 12 V and 24 V

Lighting that follows the sun all year, without timer adjustment.

Hehku 10 is installed between the power supply and the LED strip. It calculates the sunrise and sunset times for its location every day and switches the lighting between day and night levels automatically. Operation is entirely local to the device, with no external network connection.

Sunset shifts by hours through the year. A fixed timer cannot follow it.

Each column is one day of 2026, midnight at the top and bottom. Hehku 10 runs the strip at the configured daytime level in the light band and at the night level in the dark one. It recalculates every day, so the schedule stays correct through the seasons, including the midnight sun and the polar night.

The length of the days at the selected place is shown here.

Standard time, no daylight saving. Sun times use the NOAA solar equations, the same ones the firmware runs.

Installation in one visit

  1. Wiring

With the lid open, the supply cable passes through one gland to the input terminal and the strip cable through the other to the output terminal. The unit runs from any 12 V or 24 V DC supply and drives the strip at the same voltage.

  2. Setup from a phone

On first power-up Hehku 10 opens its own Wi-Fi network, and the setup page opens automatically once a phone connects. The phone sets the clock. The location is chosen from a list or on a map, followed by the two brightness levels.

  3. Closing

After saving, the lid is closed and the unit is mounted on the wall. The Wi-Fi then switches off and Hehku 10 operates on its own. A setting can be changed later by opening the lid and pressing the setup button.

Features

Independent timekeeping

A temperature-compensated clock with a coin-cell backup maintains the time through power cuts, with a drift of about 2.6 minutes a year.

Gradual transitions

At sunrise and sunset the strip fades between the two levels over five minutes, using PWM dimming.

Protection circuits

The unit includes protection against reversed supply polarity, supply voltage spikes and short circuits on the strip side. After a short circuit it switches the output off and retries.

Outdoor housing

A gasket-sealed housing for wall mounting, with two M12 cable glands.

Output up to 5 A

5 A corresponds to about 60 W of strip on a 12 V supply or 120 W on 24 V, continuously.

Offline operation

The unit is configured once from a phone browser and then runs entirely on the device, independent of online services.
